The ASP880 mic preamp is a perfect addition to your audio interface since it is a powerhouse designed with expandability in mind. Whatever your current setup, the ASP880 will be an upgrade with 8 channels of Audient’s Console mic preamps, 8 line inputs/outputs, 8 insert points, class-leading converts, and two JFET D.I’s. Using the ASP880 you can confidently conquer full band sessions, comfortably take on drum recordings with channels to spare, and more.

Audient uses the same Class-A mic preamp design in all their products, so you can be confident you’ll get professional quality sound. Considered one of the most versatile mic pres available, the Audient mic pre is known for clean and transparent sound. Not only that, but the noise floor is also exceptional at over 30,000 times quieter than the signal level. With ADC insert points you can easily record with your favorite outboard gear. It’s easy to integrate outboard FX such as EQ and compression before the analog to digital converter. Class-leading converter technology helps you confidently capture microphones and line-level instruments by providing the cleanest possible signal path. Every nuance and detail of your audio is captured, leaving you to focus on getting the most from your session.

The ASP880 can be used in a variety of ways. One option is to bypass the mic pres and converters in your current interface and experience the same excellent audio as the top studios. Another configuration is using the ADC inputs to operate the ASP880 as a standalone A-D converter.

In addition to the 8 channels of Audient mic pres, there are two JFET D.I inputs. These replicate the input stage of a classic valve amplifier – you can plug your guitar, bass, keyboard, or drum machine in and record right away.

Variable impedance and variable high pass filters give you helpful flexibility. Variable Impedance lets you match the impedance of the mic pre to a ribbon mic you choose, keeping the punch and frequency response of the mic. Variable HPF removes unwanted low frequencies, prevents proximity effect, and tightens up your low end (25Hz to 250Hz), resulting in a clean signal ready to record.

All the features of the ASP880 are protected with metal construction and hand-milled aluminum knobs that fit into 1RU construction.

The capabilities of the ASP880 go even further with the included suite of creative software. This includes Cubase LE and Cubasis LE for iOS, along with industry-leading plugins and virtual instruments so you can start recording right out of the box.
