Audix DP4 4-Piece Drum Microphone Kit

The DP4 4-Piece Drum Microphone Kit from Audix includes 3 ADX51 Overhead Mics, a D6 Kick Drum Mic, and the needed accessories for miking a full drum kit.

The DP4 4-piece drum microphone package is a perfect complement of dynamic microphones for close miking of a variety of sources on-stage or in the studio. Included in the DP4 microphone package is the D6, Audix's flagship dynamic kick drum microphone, and three i5s, Audix's best-selling instrument microphone. Also included are three DFLEX mic mounts for easy attachment to a wide variety of instruments. All microphones and clips are conveniently packaged in a foam-lined aluminum carrying case for travel and safe keeping when the microphones are not in use. The case also features three additional expansion slots for vocal microphones.

Being high SPL dynamic microphones, the D6 and i5 excel at “close miking”. This miking technique is required in order to capture the attack and percussive sound of the drum. Also, by having the mic close to the source of the sound, it helps to isolate and control the sound of each drum. With two correctly positioned overhead mics capture the transients, tonality and balance of the kit in a completely phase-coherent manner.

The D6 DYNAMIC INSTRUMENT MICROPHONE is used for stage, studio and broadcast applications. Designed with a cardioid pickup pattern for isolation and feedback control, the D6 drum microphone is equipped with a VLM™ diaphragm for natural, accurate sound reproduction. Lightweight, compact, and easy to position, the D6 cardioid microphone is an excellent choice for miking instruments requiring extended low-frequency reproduction such as kick drums, large toms, and bass cabinets. The D6’s transformerless design, low impedance, and balanced output allow for interference-free performance. The D6 is characterized with a cardioid pickup pattern for isolation and feedback control and is equipped with a VLM™ (Very Low Mass) diaphragm for natural, accurate sound reproduction. The D6 is lightweight, compact and easy to position. With a tailored frequency response of 30 Hz - 15 kHz and the ability to handle sound pressure levels in excess of 144 dB. The D6 is manufactured with a precision machined aluminum body, black anodized finish, steel mesh grill and gold plated XLR connector Transformerless design, low impedance and balanced output allow for interference-free performance even with long cable runs.

The i5 ALL-PURPOSE DYNAMIC INSTRUMENT MICROPHONE is equipped with a VLM™ diaphragm for natural, accurate sound reproduction on a live stage, in the studio, and in broadcast applications. The i5 instrument microphone is characterized with a cardioid pickup pattern for isolation and feedback control. With a wide frequency response of 50 Hz – 16 kHz, the i5 provides clear sound reproduction without having to rely on EQ. The i5 is able to handle sound pressure levels in excess of 140 dB without distortion. The i5 instrument microphone is sturdy, compact, and easy to position. The i5 dynamic instrument mic is manufactured with a precision cast zinc alloy body, dent resistant steel grill, durable black E-coat finish and gold plated XLR connector.
