DAS Audio ACTION-508 8-Inch Passive Speaker

The ACTION-508 from DAS Audio is an 8", 2-way passive point source speaker that's an ideal solution for fixed installations and portable PA applications alike.

A small unit that’s packed with power, the ACTION-508 from DAS Audio’s ACTION-500 speaker series is an 8 inch, 2-way passive point source speaker. This passive system is specifically engineered to fit a wide range of applications, from fixed installation sound systems to portable PA. Lightweight and compact, the ACTION-508 is a versatile solution for touring, while its low-profile build makes it an easy fit into any size of studio or permanent stage setup.

The ACTION-508 features a rotatable horn with 90º (horizontal coverage) x 60º (vertical coverage) dispersion. This allows the speaker to be used not only vertically but also rotated to a horizontal orientation to be used in a fixed installation, as a stage monitor, or even as a front fill.

The new 8GV low-frequency driver has 150W of power and enhanced excursion capacity for much lower distortion coupled with a higher SPL (maximum peak SPL at 1m, 124 dB). The ACTION-508 boasts a frequency range of 60 Hz to 20 kHz, while it has a nominal impedance of 8 ohms.

The ACTION-508 passive point source speaker is built with the same attention to detail and commitment to high-quality construction as the entirety of DAS Audio’s product line. All systems are developed to live up to their core philosophy of stringent quality standards in both the individual materials they use and the overall design. The entire ACTION-500 series uses birch plywood construction for a tight, natural, and warm sound.

NOTE: When using a passive version of the ACTION-500 speaker series, you’ll need to complete the sound system with DAS Audio amplifiers and processors with stored presets and limiters; the recommended companions of this speaker are the PA-500 amplifier and the DSP-226 processor. (All external gear sold separately.) This will ensure optimized long-term speaker performance.
