Make your instrumental sound truly stand out with the Shure Beta 27 Side-Address Supercardioid Condenser Microphone. The Beta 27 is ideal for professional sound reinforcement and studio recording applications when isolating sound is crucial. This condenser mic is tailored for superior transient response for natural reproduction, shaped specifically for kick drums and bass instruments.

The Beta 27's tight supercardioid pattern ensures high gain-before-feedback and maximum isolation/bleed from other sound sources and consistent off-axis rejection. Constructed of the highest quality materials, it boasts a low-mass, 1” externally-biased diaphragm featuring ultra-thin 24 Karat gold-layered Mylar, which delivers the ultimate in transient responses. Additionally, this premium condenser mic has a 3-position switchable low-frequency filter that reduces unwanted background noise and counteracts proximity effect—resulting in a consistent, extended low-end even in the most demanding environments.

An internal three-stage mesh pop filter lessens wind and plosives. The -15 dB switchable attenuator handles extremely high sound pressure levels with ease. The internal pneumatic shock mount reduces handling and stand noise.

The Beta 27 is great for:

  • Electric guitar and bass amplifiers
  • Brass and woodwind instruments
  • Orchestras, choirs, and wind ensembles
  • Overhead miking of drums and percussion instruments
  • Close-miking of acoustic instruments such as piano, guitar, violins, drums, and percussion
  • Low-frequency instruments such as double bass and kick drum
  • Vocals and speech

More about Shure Beta Microphones

The Shure Beta Microphone Series were made as an improvement to the SM Series, offering better performance and are the next step up in price for Shure product. In general, Shure Beta mics offer tighter pick-up patterns and allow for higher gain before feedback. These mics have upgraded pop filters and advanced shock mount systems compared to the SM mic line. Recognized for their superior construction, low handling noise, and high SPL levels, Beta Microphones redefine sensitivity and control for essential, expert sound reinforcement.
