The d:screet 4080 lavalier microphone presents an ideal solution to challenging acoustic environments. Its cardioid pattern rejects sound from the side, providing an unusually high degree of definition for the sound in front of it. Pop filters add further protection from external noise such as wind. Sound rejection from the narrow angle of sensitivity in this cardioid lavalier makes the mic ideally suited to speech reproduction in broadcasts, conferences, TV and film, and live performances. Acoustically pre-equalized, the mic offers a 4 dB presence boost. This presence boost matches the mic’s chest placement and acts to improve speech intelligibility. Pre-mounted pop filters in holders with integrated shock mounts are included in both black and white for decreasing visibility of the mic against dark and light colors. Each pop filter is fixed on a clip that allows the lav microphone to easily turn in all directions. The lapel clip is also universal, so it can be attached to left or right buttoned shirts. A foam windscreen is also included to further dampen extra sound.
Personalize the 4080 mic by choosing from a variety of available connectors and amplifier options. This wireless lav mic can use DPA’s original Legacy technology or the updated CORE. CORE uses the same capsule as Legacy, and improves how the preamplifier interprets the miniscule membrane movement within the capsule and electrically converts it into an electrical signal. These changes minimize distortion at higher sound pressure levels than the Legacy technology. One connector option for the 4080 is a MicroDot termination, which enables the mic to be run with a wireless system. Use an adapter (sold separately) to connect your wireless system to the 4080 lavalier.
