The Yamaha Rio1608-D2 is not only a high-performance I/O rack unit, it supplies built-in Dante audio networking. Known for sonic transparency, the Rio1608-D2 plays a critical role in supporting the performance capabilities of the associated console, offers flexibility for placement and multi-unit combinations, and allows redundancy for high reliability. A standard component of the Rivage PM 7 digital mixing system, the Rio1608-D2 is also fully compatible with CL and QL series digital mixing consoles.

Yamaha is known for an unwavering commitment to sonic purity, a tradition upheld by the Rio1608-D2. Analog circuitry was updated so the on-stage sound can be cleanly captured and then shaped however the sound engineer requires.
Dante network protocol offers many benefits. Extensive freedom in system setup and configuration lets you use just about any combination of devices to suit the application—and to position those devices however it’s most convenient. Dante also enables redundancy, keeping the system running even if a problem occurs. Other features include Dante Device Lock and Dante Domain Manager.

Power redundancy is not only supplied through Dante but dual power supply units on the Rio1608-D2 rack. If a problem occurs with one power source, operation continues unaffected as long as the second power source is active. Internal airflow also reduces fan noise from this operation, keeping things cool and quiet.

In place of basic LED indicators, the Rio1608-D2 has character/icon displays. You’ll know exactly what you’re looking at quickly and easily when it comes to metering, gain, high-pass filters, phantom power, and more.

Multiple consoles connected to one I/O rack can be unpredictable and undesirable when it comes to analog gain changes. A Gain Compensation function automatically adjusts gain at the digital stage to compensate for analog gain changes, sending sound to the network at a constant level.
