It features an externally polarized (DC bias) element, making the AT4040 a true condenser microphone, as well as a frequency response range of 20 to 20,000 Hz. Its advanced large diaphragm is tensioned specifically to provide smooth, natural sound, while its low noise, wide dynamic range (133 dB, 1 kHz at Max SPL), and effortless ability to handle high sound pressure levels perfectly equip it for consistency and versatility.

The AT4040’s cardioid polar pattern improves isolation from unwanted noise from the back and sides, ensuring that you capture all the sound you want, and none of the background noise you don’t. Meanwhile, this microphone’s open acoustical environment and symmetrical housing assembly work to minimize unwanted internal reflections. The AT4040 features low-noise, symmetrical circuitry, and its transformerless design eliminates low-frequency sound distortion, enabling an exceptional transient response and clean output signals for transparent sound reproduction.

The AT4040 includes a switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter and a 10 dB pad, as well as a precision-engineered acoustic element baffle constructed of nickel-plated brass for reliable element stability and optimized sound sensitivity.
