The JBL Control 29AV-1 offers improved voicing for incredibly flat, high-fidelity performance, extended bandwidth, and well-controlled defined coverage from a compact housing.

Use the speaker either in a vertical or horizontal setup with the rotatable high-frequency horn. Consistent coverage no matter how the Control 29AV-1 is set up means you’ll get excellent sound character throughout the listening area. The speaker can also be used as close as 9” to video monitors thanks to moderate magnetic shielding.

Designed to minimize insertion loss and reduce saturation, the top-quality line distribution transformer allows the use of either 70V or 100V distributed speaker lines. In bypass position, 8Ω impedance means you can use multiple speakers on a loudspeaker line.

SonicGuard overload protection (exclusive to JBL) ensures reliability while providing full-fidelity sound in the Control 29AV-1. This protects the elements of the speaker that keep it operating at its best while being inaudible to the listener.

For maximal weather resistance the woofer’s cone is constructed from Kevlar, its surround is pure butyl rubber, and the driver basket is rear-loaded (minimizing direct exposure). The compression driver’s diaphragm consists of pure titanium. The grille is thermoset composite coated, and the foam that comes with it helps keep water out. A secure input connection is ensured with nickel/zinc terminals that are rust resistant. Further protection of the terminals comes in the MTC-PC2 sealed entrance cover (included).

Mounting is done with the included InvisiBall mounting method. Simple to install, the InvisiBall system aims easily and acts as a theft deterrent. With InvisiBall, the Control 29AV-1 can be rotated horizontally up to 41° off-axis and vertically rotated up to 36° (horn end inward) or 23° (woofer end inward). The Control 29AV-1 can also be mounted for compact applications with attachment points for the MTC-29UB U-bracket (sold separately).
