With its authentic sound and all the components that make up a basic drum set, the Yamaha DTX6K-X electronic drum kit is well-suited for midlevel drummers. Realistic sound starts with sound samples of leading Yamaha musicians playing in studios and continues in design elements of 3-zone pads and accurate strike feel. Accuracy of playing feel and sound makes playing skills gained on the DTX6K-X transfer smoothly to acoustic drums.

Authentic sound and playing feel are assured through many details of this electronic drum set. Acoustic drum sounds built into the kit are all real sounds played by leading Yamaha artists and recorded by sound engineers in well-known studios. Ambience elements unique to those studios are part of the kits as well. Experience fine-tuned control over your sound in an accessible way with the Kit Modifier setting knobs. The ambience knob adjusts reverberation of drum sound, compression knob controls the compression effect and brings them to the front, and effect knob controls effects optimized for preset kits.

The drums follow your lead, creating sound that matches the feel of your strikes. A sound module precisely matched to drum pads and 3-zone feature in the pads create highly accurate reproduction of drumming performance. Set the snare to head, closed rim, and open rim for different strike responses. Ride cymbal can be set to edge, bow, or cup, and crash cymbal can be choked by pinching your fingers around the edge after striking.

Drum pad material is yet another feature for authentic performance and feel. Textured cellular silicone (TCS) in the snare drum pad provides a comfortable playing feel while keeping the pads themselves quiet. This foam silicone material contains countless air bubbles, creating a natural feel with the perfect level of firmness and rebound for hard strikes. Enjoyable to play, this material also has a unique floating structure that prevents vibration from strikes, keeping the pad noise thwacks at a minimum. Design qualities create a playing experience that easily translates to acoustic drums, making the kit a great practice or backup set for the up and coming musician.

Terminals on the drum module give you the power to adapt this kit for more equipment or work as a hybrid set with acoustic drums. Sharing your performance is easier than ever with the compatible Rec’n’Share app. All the features of the DTX6K-X drum kit make a great choice for midlevel drummers looking for an accessible yet professional playing experience.
