Upgrade your musical power with Yamaha’s Genos 2.0 digital workstation. Designed with feedback from Genos 1 musicians, this Genos takes what worked in the original version and adds features for a more user-friendly and creative playing experience. These features include chord looper function, style section reset function, larger expansion memory, scale tune separation, and even more styles and voices to choose from. With over 1,700 styles and voices to choose from you can create a truly unique performance. Popular sounds include samples from CFX piano, Kino strings, Revo!Drums and so much more. All styles use articulation element modeling (AEM) technology to simulate the characteristics of an actual instrument. In addition to the 1710 instrument voices, Genos has 550 accompaniment styles and 216 arpeggios.

The Genos workstation has lots of personalization options in controllers, effects, and functions. Controllers on the Genos are easily accessed with 6 live control knobs, 9 live control sliders, and cross fader. All live control knobs and live control sliders are assignable. Loaded with effects, the Genos workstation has different types of reverb, chorus, DSP variation, master compressor, master EQ, part EQ, vocal harmony, and more. Effects are powered by the same VCM technology in Yamaha’s mixing consoles for top-of-the-line effects. Use Registration Memory function to bring up your favorite custom sound creation with the press of a button.

Chord looper function records and loop chord sequences, freeing your left hand to make sound adjustments in the control panel or play two-handed passages. Style section reset is particularly helpful in music with varying time signatures or when playing along with a vocalist. Jump to the beginning of the bar when playing along with a Styles by pressing the Tap Tempo button.

Enhanced touch response of the Genos keys delivers premium action with aftertouch, so the expression and dynamics you put into the performance shine through. Keyboard touch response feels natural and can also be tailored to normal, different levels of easy, soft, and hard.

Creative power in the Genos workstation is supported with storage power. MIDI and USB capabilities are built in, and expansion memory is larger than the original Genos at 3 GB. YEM software and integrated flash memory give space for creating and installing your own custom packs. With all the voices and styles already included plus the space to add your own customizations, the Genos workstation is an instrument built to keep up with your creativity.
