Yamaha’s MX49 synthesizer offers USB audio/MIDI connectivity, advanced DAW/VST controller features, and over 1000 sounds from the Motif series. The MX49 is great for musicians wanting to add a synth to their existing setup or start building their synthesizer skills. Choose this synth in black or blue for a personal touch.

Voices on the MX49 come from the renowned Motif XS series. There are over 1,000 sounds to choose from with realistic acoustic piano, electric piano, strings, and drums, along with complex 8-element synth sounds. Sounds are easily accessible with a streamlined interface for immediate hands-on selection and Category Selection helps find the voice you need. There is also room to edit and store your own sounds.

Get inspired with Performance Mode’s 128 performances and split/layer capability. Easily combine two voices with the split and layer buttons for a full band feel. The 128 performances on the MX come programmed with club style beats and are all user editable. Split/layer function and other effects can be applied to performances. With 16-part multi timbral and 128 notes of polyphony, the MX49 is an excellent tone generator solution in live performance and playback of DAW MIDI tracks.

The MX49 comes with many other effects. VCM effects imitate vintage effectors at the circuit level, bringing the sounds of ‘70s equalizers, flangers, phasers and wah effects to this synth. Knobs and buttons on the interface control internal sounds, DAW parameters and VST instruments. Interface controls are combined with a remote template editor on your computer so the MX can control any VST.

Beyond DAWs and VSTs, the MX49 has bi-directional USB audio and MIDI interfacing. Connect a USB cable to your computer or external studio monitors for sound monitoring. As a bi-directional synthesizer, sounds on the MX bypass the analog domain when recording directly to a computer for the best possible quality. There is also a USB to Device port for extra memory storage.

More about Synthesizers at Sound Productions

Synthesizers (alternatively spelled synthesiser and called synths for short) are electronic musical instruments that generate audio signals. Synthesizers get their name because their audio signals are generated according to a type of synthesis that creates a waveform of sound. Because these waveforms can be controlled, using a synth provides versatility in adapting how a sound is sculpted, and can simulate and blend a variety of sounds to create unique audio experiences.
