Akai Professional’s MPK Mini Play keyboard controller comes packed with the functionality you need to play music wherever inspiration strikes, whether at home or on the go. Based on the popular MPK Mini, this all-in-one controller combines professional features with an interface that is both fun and easy to use—making it a great piece of gear to inspire your creativity.

This portable controller boasts 128 sounds, a built-in speaker, 8 backlit MPC drum pads, and a 4-way joystick. Tweak sounds and edit parameters on the fly using four knobs (two banks capable of controlling eight different parameters).

Capable of going wireless for hours, the MPK Mini Play is powered by 3 AA batteries (sold separately). Use the controller’s USB port to connect to a computer for plug-and-play MIDI functionality. Other connectivity features include a mini-audio output jack to connect headphones for private playing or external speakers for public performance, depending on the needs of the moment

Maximize control of your VST instrument and effect collection with MPK Mini Play’s included VIP3.0 from Akai Pro. This free download seamlessly integrates hardware and software to deliver unrestricted access to your sounds. With VIP3.0, the MPK Mini Play’s intuitive layout makes it easy to browse instrument type, timbre, style, or articulation. Layer up to 8 separate instruments and patches per VIP instance. Load up to 4 different VST effects per instrument channel. Energize your performance with Pad Chord Progressions and Key Control processors.

In addition to the VIP3.0 that’s included, MPK Mini Play comes bundled with professional production software, as well as over 2GB of content ranging from samples, loops, and virtual instrument plugins. MPC Beats is a beat-making DAW software for both Mac and PC. Mimicking MPC workflow, it also works as a VST plugin and comes with over 80 audio FX plugins to sculpt your audio. Meanwhile, Pro Tools | First is audio recording software that features unlimited busses, elastic time and pitch, offline bounce, and 1GB free cloud storage so you can access your projects from any computer connected to the internet. MPK Mini Play also includes built-in virtual instruments such as Hybrid 3 from AIR Music Tech and SONiVOX’s Wobble.

The MPK Mini Play is upgrade-ready for Akai Pro’s MPC Software 2.0 (sold separately), which enhances the controller’s capability and functionality for greater freedom and creative versatility. This cutting-edge production suite combines 128-track sequencing, up-to-the-minute time-stretching, clip-launch, advanced MIDI editing, VST compatibility (in controller mode), standalone operation on Mac and PC, advanced sampling and audio editing/recording, seamless DAW integration, redesigned GUI, Ableton Link compatibility, and much more.
