The mic has a differential cardioid (Differoid) polar pattern, which cancels ambient noise from floor monitors, crowds, and other sources. AKG’s controlled field tests show that the Differoid provides up to 12dB more gain before feedback than other cardioid mics, with nearly complete isolation. The mic’s condenser capsule includes a built-in shock mount that further enhances the rejection of mechanical or handling noise.
Included in the box with the CM311 are a carry case for safe storage and secure transport, a foam pop filter to help prevent plosives, breath, and wind noise from being picked up by the mic, and a clothing clip for securing the microphone cable to your clothing so it doesn’t get tangled or caught.
