The Teranex AV’s 1089 conversions between SD, HD, and Ultra HD are all possible in real time. Conversion results are visually transparent enough that you won’t see a difference from the original. Processing power includes up and down conversions, cross conversions, and standards conversions. Video is instantly ready for use, since conversions retain timecode, ancillary data, 16 channels of audio, and perfect frame synchronization.

Advanced patented algorithms allow millions of pixels to be processed simultaneously in X/Y positions and between video frames. Full 10-bit image processing, high quality de-interlacing and optical quality scaling convert video in real time with quality indistinguishable from the original video. Advanced connections include 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0a inputs, loop through, and outputs along with BNC connections for reference. Various channel possibilities are two channel consumer HiFi and XLR connectors for four channels of AES/EBU or two channels of balanced analog audio. Advanced HDMI processing with HDMI input, loop through, and outputs allows HDMI to be converted to SDI without additional hardware. An optical fiber cage supports adding optional modules for sending video and audio over long distances.

12G-SDI connections let you work in formats up to 2160p60 using your existing cables. The 12G-SDI connections are multi-rate – automatically switching to 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI and SD-SDI – and Ultra HD 4K is supported. Output Ultra HD over four SDI connections with Quad SDI for monitoring or video wall purposes.

Control stays right at your fingertips, and a built-in LCD monitor makes menu navigation easy while eliminating the need for an external monitor. Video control soft menus include adjustments for luminance, saturation, hue, black level, R-Y/B-Y color difference, sharpness, and more. Ancillary data supports conversion of up to 16 audio channels, plus timecode and closed caption data. These controls can be accessed remotely with Teranex Setup software. Panel size of 1RU and machined metal construction makes the Teranex AV great for portable racks and outside broadcast vehicles.

Low latency even with complex conversions makes sure the projected visual is synchronized with the live performance. Still store function can capture a video frame and retain it in memory. Built-in resynchronization makes clean switches from a still such as a logo to the live feed. Temporarily hold the current frame on screen while preparing to switch to another video output, black frame, or still store using the freeze frame feature. With freeze frame you can change between presentations without the audience seeing the transition, and make sure you always have something on screens.

The editing process can cause an improper cadence. Teranex AV eliminates that by automatically detecting and correcting the cadence, resulting in a cleaner film-style finished product. This function can also remove the pulldown, even when a video has already been edited and the cadence broken.
