Eight Audient Console mic preamps are provided on the ASP800. These pres use the same discrete circuit design from the popular Audient recording console ASP8024-HE. Known for ultra-low noise and low distortion with a hint of classic analog warmth, these mic preamps deliver professional sound.
Though the mic preamps offer a touch of analog, retro channels on the ASP800 are provided for options to color your sound with tones associated with 60s and 70s audio. HMX harmonic saturator uses discrete MOSFET technology to produce asymmetrical harmonic distortion, adding richness and body to the pristine tone of the Audient mic preamp. IRON transformer drive uses a custom British transformer with a high voltage MOSFET drive network that is designed to add saturation similar to magnetic tape distortion for that 70s sound.
In addition to the 8 channels of mic preamps, there are two harmonically rich JFET D.I inputs on the ASP800. These inputs replicate the input stage of a classic valve amplifier, making them truly plug and play: simply plug your guitar, bass, keyboard, or drum machine in, and immediately start recording.
Class-leading converters in the ASP800 work to capture every nuance and detail of your audio with impressive clarity. These converters deliver quality so you can focus on getting the most from your session. All the interior components of the ASP800 are protected with careful construction. The all-metal body features hand-finished aluminum knobs packed into an ergonomic 1RU rack mount.
The ASP800 goes even further thanks to the included creative software suite which includes Cubase LE and Cubasis LE for iOS, alongside industry-leading plugins and virtual instruments. These software additions enable you to start recording as soon as you open the box.
