The Beta 98H/C from Shure is a premium cardioid condenser instrument microphone that clamps onto the bell of wind instruments or the rim of percussion instruments such as drums. Compact and lightweight, the Beta 98H/C is easy to position even in crowded setups, all with a low degree of visibility.
Its integrated gooseneck and ratcheting swivel joint let you perfectly position the mic and secure it against any rowdy performance. An isolation shock-mount reduces the transmission of instrument 'key noise' and other mechanical noise, so you capture your instrument’s sound, not any handling or background noise. The Beta 98H/C also features a gooseneck angle brace, which provides better retention of the desired mic placement. Additionally, fitted foam windscreens minimize wind noise.
Featuring a highly consistent cardioid polar pattern, the Beta 98H/C provides high gain-before-feedback and smooth off-axis rejection of unwanted noise. Its preamplifier circuitry enhances linearity across the full frequency range. Its frequency response is tailored to deliver an open, natural sound reproduction.
